About

Welcome to Seismic Talk. If you work, or have worked, on a seismic crew this site is for you. This site is, and will always be, non-profit but we may insert some ads if the readership gets so large that we have to move to a more expensive hosting package.

Over the coming months we hope to expand the site with more categories and articles which we hope will be of interest to our readers. Please feel free to add your comments to let us know what you think about the articles.

We also have a page of forums where you can find old friends, chat with other users or read the latest seismic rumors (or start your own). We simply ask that you don’t add crudely offensive comments and keep it reasonably free from excessive profanity.

Our editors will moderate any comments on the articles and the forums and alter or remove anything too nasty. If anybody is offended by anything that we leave then you can always use the “right of reply”. Comments in this site may not represent the opinions of the editorial staff.

You need to register (click the link on the right that says “register”) and log in before you can add comments and we will add your name to our gallery users list as soon as we can so that you can upload photos for our readers to view. Registration is fairly painless and quick. If you lose your password you can click on the link on the log in screen and you will be sent a new password.

All user are automatically assigned a gallery album and are contributors for articles. See the How-To page for details on how to go about posting new articles and adding pictures to your gallery. We welcome contributions of seismic photos, old and new, from any of our users.

Let us know if there is anything you would like added to the site and we will do our best to accomodate you.

We reserve the right to use your comments as the basis of articles and anybody whose comments are used for this will be invited to become an author. If anybody is interested in contributing articles or news we will be happy to accomodate you.
