Restaurants guilty of sponsoring "extreme eating" say food police

Here is one of the type of headline that really galls me. What kind of garbage are these people expecting us to swallow now? Are we to believe that, in a world which sells more diet books than ever before and has headlines such as this all too often, there are still people who are not aware that if you eat fatty foods in large quantities it will not affect their health or their waistline?

This sort of sensational headline is just trying to convince us that we can blame everybody else for anything that we do wrong. Sure there are some cases where the public is gulled into believing that products are good for them, but most of these are sold in so-called health food stores. Have you seen the sort of advertising that accompanies some of the vitamin pills and supplements that they are selling these days? If you believe the advertising spiel they can prevent anything from common colds to cancer. Nobody seems to be complaining loudly about that.

These days it seems that everybody is being told that if they are not specifically informed that something may harm them they can sue whoever made the product. Soon we will have hammers with warning signs that they may cause injury if used to strike the body. To see the article click on the link below.
